This is a message for shotgun licence holders:-

We have been very pleased to see many of you at the shooting ground for a practise shoot, having your shotgun serviced or even having a shooting lesson to blow away any lockdown cobwebs!

We have decided to revise the booking in process for a practise shoot to make it simpler but most importantly, allow us to monitor the numbers of shooters even more thoroughly on the ground at any one time if we ever need to provide Track and Trace information.

Up until now, you were asked to book a session by telephoning the ground, followed by an email confirming names and phone numbers. Most shooters have followed this system very well.

From today, Sunday 23rd August, the only way to book a practise shooting session is to send an email with a date/time request plus shooter names and phone numbers.

The information from your email is transferred to our daily booking sheet and so we have an accurate record of who we are expecting to attend and importantly, we can monitor the number of shooters on the ground at any one time. You will might only get a reply to your email if we need you to change the date/ time of your booking.

On your arrival, it is still essential that all shooters book in at reception so we can tick you off our list. This includes shooters with Claymate cards that have been preloaded with clays.

So from now on, there is no longer any need to telephone for a booking or speak to a member of staff before sending your email.

An email booking request is all we need!!

The practise shooting times during the week have not changed since the update at the end of June but here are the times again as a reminder:

Tues, Thurs, Fri - 10.00am start with 11.45am finish and 10.20am as the latest booking in time. The counter in reception will be open from 9.45 am.

Wednesday morning club shoot starts at 10.00am with finish at 12.45pm. Last entries at 11.00am.

Thank you and best wishes,

Ian and the HWSG Team
